Quick Update: On uprisings, the Hadestown recording and silly things.

Hi! It’s been a while. ❤

(You wouldn’t think about it that way- you got a post from me last week. But I haven’t written anything new in 3 weeks ^.^) This is the kind of messy update you’re used to have from me, so nothing new here.

So. What’s new? Puerto Ricans overthrew a government after two weeks of protest caused by years of oppression… and a group chat. (Can you believe a Telegram chat unraveled this whole thing? Me neither.)

So… that’s cool. Proud is not enough of a word to describe how it felt to finally see Ricardo Rosselló finally resigning. Seeing people celebrating in the streets live is something I will never forget. (Of course, if you follow me on Twitter, you’d know all about it- or probably… just muted me. Oops.) My day to day was spent listening to AM radio, political podcasts and Twitter (specifically David Begnaud’s twitter. He’s our national treasure. I am now a David Begnaud stan account, jsyk). I’m not here to explain it all, there are countless accounts that have been writing thousands of pages about it.(Just search for #RickyRenuncia)

Of course, you must know it’s still not over. We still do not have a stable government (and probably will not have one for a while) The next person on the chain of succession is… far from ideal and is probably involved in the whole thing. So, you will not stop hearing from us during the next few months.

What am I doing right now? I’m sort of taking a break. I listened to the Hadestown recording while writing (part of) this. I listened to all of it and I’m empty! Seriously: Doubt Comes In literally made me gasp in the end. I don’t think I’ll ever lose that feeling. I feel like it’s the complete opposite to In a Crowd of Thousands. The latter shows something the whole show has built up to, an amazing thing, and the former does the same thing, but you do not want it to happen. But it does anyway. (Wow, my way with words is the best. *pure sarcasm* I have no idea why you follow me, tbh)

I’m also catching up with all the reading and shows I abandoned during this past week (or… year, to be honest).

K-dramas:

I finished Search: WWW! And you should all watch it. (Just ignore the romantic filler. *shrugs* I was only there for the powerful female figures and their relationships, tbh)

Resultado de imagen para search: www

I’m currently watching Hotel del Luna (because of IU and it was written by the Hong Sisters, so you should all run and watch it!) and Doctor John (because it’s a medical drama and it stars Ji Sung, my first Korean love).

Hotel del Luna is giving me Goblin + Master’s Sun vibes, just saying. If you like any of these you could like it.

Resultado de imagen para hotel del luna

Doctor John is only starting, but it is already showing topics that are considered taboo and I trust his vision on his dramas. So yeah. I’m very pleased with it so far and my expectations are limitless.

Books:

I finally read Soul of Stars by Ashley Poston. I am a sucker for books with plots like this (where love attempts to overthrow mind controlling, you know?) This story is the ending of a duology, which is an Anastasia retelling. I don’t have to tell you how much I love Anastasia. Just so you know, Ashley Poston has become an insta-buy author for me.

The Becoming of Noah Shaw & The Reckoning of Noah Shaw. I have mixed feelings with the first one, since not much happened. But the second one reminded me why I fell in love with Noah Shaw on the first place. It had flashbacks and snarkiness and the unreliable narrators we know and love. (also- no Mara, which was actually refreshing. Let’s see what will happen next) It took me a literal year for me to start this series because I was afraid I wouldn’t feel the same way about it. I was right, but I was still interested on the story and I actually want to know how it will end.

I reread Red, White and Royal Blue. Look: Alex and Henry’s story is the cutest thing ever. I needed something that could counteract the whole bitterness of my country’s political climate, so what’s better than reading a book about two political figures falling in love during an election period? *shrugs*

Stray thoughts: Taylor Swift’s new song is amazing. The Archer is what I expect and love from Taylor, so I think I’m going to love her next album. I’ve been avoiding streaming her old albums because of the Scooter Braun thing, and I honestly miss her so much. I wish my laptop had a CD port so I could listen to my physical copies. Ugh.

PS: I still have around three weeks of freedom before uni starts… I haven’t rested this much in literal years, and it feels amazing.

Quick update: cruising, reading and binge-watching

So, of course, after all those posts with specific purposes, I owe you an absolute mess of an update, since that’s what I’ve been doing with my blog for months and that’s what you have come to expect of me. So here I am.

First update: Somehow (really, don’t ask me how) I am halfway done with my degree.

I reached 50% of my PharmD: I never thought I would reach this milestone so fast. I only have one year left of my didactic studies, after which I’ll work my ash off. I think this is the first actual break I have had ever since I started pharmacy school and I have really stopped to think: holy shirt how is this possible? I am honestly so proud of myself for coming this far. Especially, if you read my past posts, I had no idea what I would do with my life until my second year of my undergrad.

Gente, llegamos al 50% 💃🏻

A post shared by natalie 🐬 (@fearlessly.nat) on

I went on a cruise with my friends.

That’s something I never thought I would ever do (I went on a cruise when I was way younger and my experience was not the best in terms of motion sickness), but here we were. It has been one of the most fun experiences I have ever gone through in my life. Going to piano bars? Listening to talented singers perform every night? Eating delicious food?

Resultado de imagen para aziraphale eating

I am so glad I was able to do this with my classmates, as this is something we will remember for the rest of our lives, hopefully.

A stray thought: I can’t believe I’ve hopped on a plane more times in a year than I have my whole life. (hopefully I’ll be able to do it even more once I actually graduate and earn money O.o)

Another stray thought: Non-drowsy Dramamine is BS

As for reading (I had written “I am a disappointing mess on a previous draft”)

I finished Vengeful and Love and Other Words, two of the books I had started months ago. But the one I actually want to mention is Kingdom of Exiles.

42366222

Mo gave it a glowing recommendation and, as I tweeted this:

I HAD to read it. And it was so good! The whole plot was amazing, and I always needed to know what would happen next. I buddy read it with Lee, and theorizing, screaming and fangirling with her was so much fun! I hope I can get to do it again when Frozen Prince comes out!

I’m currently waiting for Soul of Stars to come out and suffer.

Now, for the update you were (not) waiting for: TV and K-dramas!

I watched the entirety of Fleabag in a day. (Not going to lie- I watched it because of a specific Andrew Scott Tumblr giftset my friend sent me) And it was so much more than I expected! Quality comedy that can also make me cry.

Good Omens: My current obsession: I shall spend my whole life trying to get everyone to watch the masterpiece of Michael Sheen and David Tennant playing an angel and a demon, respectively. Plus, it was written by Neil Gaiman: WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, PEOPLE?!

Resultado de imagen para aziraphale eating

As for K-dramas:

-I’M IN LOVE WITH KIM JAE WOOK. Her Private Life wasn’t full of a mind-blowing plot or whatever, but it’s so cute and fangirly and my expectations for men kept skyrocketing.

Angel’s Last Mission: Love– It’s so cute and my mom says it looks like City of Angels and if it is, I’ll cry. A LOT. But meanwhile I’ll have fun with their cute and amazing acting kbye. (And the plot is amazing, and I’m scared of how it will end. *cries*)

-And the one I love the most right now: Search: WWW. It’s such a feminist K-drama. Every single misogynistic trope is turned around, and I am living to see three powerful women take over the world. ❤

As for miscellaneous obsessions:

Lore Olympus owns my life right now. That’s all I’ll say. ❤

Anyhow, here is your mess of an update! Hope you enjoyed it!

-Nat ❤

Bye, bye, 2018 (Part 3: Books!)

Hello, there. Welcome to the actually interesting part of my 2018 recaps! 🙂

As you know I did not have much time for blogging this past year *cough* I was not organized enough *cough* so… whenever I could read books, or watch movies or TV shows I did not post about them. I thought I could share them with you 🙂

This is the one and only post about my favorite books of 2018!

If you follow me on social media (which is probable, if you are reading this) you’ll know I struggled to finish my Goodreads Reading Challenge this year. I set a goal of 25 books, which is one fourth of my goal when I was in high school. To be honest, I do not have much time for books ever since I started Pharmacy school, and it saddens me. This is why I tried my best to find small bits of time here and there. I’m proud, even if some people will think I should not be. *shrugs*

I’m choosing 5 books this year. This is definitely not going to be easy, but here we go.

(5) A Very Large Expanse of Sea, by Tahereh Mafi

Resultado de imagen para a very large expanse of sea

Reading this, I knew we were getting a glimpse into the author’s life. And it honestly hurt to see how stereotypes can shape someone’s experience. Reading about Shirin’s anger with the world, and how she did not want to let anyone in? It made me sad, and it definitely made me reflect on how you never really know what a person is thinking or feeling, no matter how they react visibly.

I had already read Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me series (and I’m up to date with it) so I knew she would not disappoint me. I’m glad she wrote this amazing book.

(4) Radio Silence, by Alice Oseman

Resultado de imagen para radio silence

I first found of about this book because I was looking for ace representation. Then I started reading Heartstopper, and read Solitaire and every single Alice Oseman book and I knew I had to give this a chance. I loved that Frances and Aled are friends, not “friends”, if you get me. They are not set to have a romantic relationship, but that doesn’t substract from the depth of the story.

(3) Kingdom of Ash, by Sarah J. Maas

Resultado de imagen para kingdom of ash

I waited so long for this book, it’s not even funny. (Not more than people following Aelin’s story since the Livejournal days. but still). If I’m honest, I read this book just before a Pharmacotherapy exam, and, at this day, I have no idea how I passed it. But moving on, it was an amazing book, it gave me most of the things I wanted from it (and excruciating pain, we can’t forget that). I really want to reread the series at some point of my life, and remember how my life was at this point. Aelin’s journey helped me through a LOT during these years, and I shall always be grateful. ❤

(2) The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Resultado de imagen para the seven husbands of evelyn hugo

I did not understand the hype around this book, then I read it. This is one of those you just can’t. Stop. Reading. Evelyn’s story enthralled me and never let go. Please, everyone. If by any chance you have not read this, feel doubtful, or do not understand the hype, join us. You will become Evelyn Hugo’s #1 stan. 🙂

(1) An Absolutely Remarkable Thing, by Hank Green

Resultado de imagen para an absolutely remarkable thing

Look, everyone. I’m as surprised as you are. I still can’t stop thinking about this book. When I first picked it up, I had no idea of what it was about. I will admit I only started it because Hank Green had written it, and I am a fan. But I was pleasantly surprised. He gave us a glimpse into the thoughts of a public figure. The public thinks one way, but the truth is that her image has been manipulated by April, and the people around her. And isn’t this what is real? We all, not only celebrities, have this mask, this image we like to project, and April showed us what’s real. She owned to her mistakes: she accepted she screwed up, and gave you a heads up of what would happen. I was surprised to see that there would be a sequel (according to Goodreads), because I could have accepted this ending. Although I can’t wait to see how the story will continue!

Anyhow, people. I want to wish you a happy new year, and that 2019 brings you the happiness you desire, and the goals you want to achieve. ❤

A new update: IPPEs and Taylor Swift

Hello, my dear followers who I haven’t really spoken to in a while O.o (!!!)

How are you? How are you doing? -you probably will not answer these in the comments, it’s fine. *cue the crying*

My second year of pharmacy school is about to begin -I know. Shocking- and I wanted to catch you up with what’s happening in my life.

IPPE Community (aka my first practice experience)

How can I say this? I learned so much during my three weeks practice experience. I don’t think anyone truly knows what happens behind a pharmacy counter, except for the ones working there. Honestly? I couldn’t have been more blessed with my placement.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BlqniVjHpNB/?taken-by=fearlessly.nat

They were so nice and patient with my questions and my inexperience. They were willing to teach me, and I wish they knew how much I appreciate this. My preceptor, the technicians and the other pharmacists working there: I love you, and I want you to know I had lots of fun and that I hope that my future site of work has a similar environment.

rep tour!

If you follow me anywhere, in any social media -Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat (@fearlesslynat) -you’ll know that THIS HAPPENED.

A post shared by natalie 🐬 (@fearlessly.nat) on

Somehow, thanks to a friend who lives there (Shoutout to Ashley!!) I was able to attend the reputation tour. Even as I’m writing this, I keep believing it was a beautiful dream. I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t see the wristband, my t-shirt and the pictures on my phone.

Honestly, if a few months ago you had told me that I would travel on my own to see my favorite artist on her biggest tour to date, I would have said you were joking. I’d been wanting to see her for 9 years, and I had stopped hoping for a while.

Still- it happened, and I have the evidence to prove it. ❤

My current obsessions:

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before: You’ve probably heard about it already, but it’s amazing! I’ve been reading the books and I’m literally in love with Peter K. But shh, watch the movie on Netflix, or even better, do what I didn’t and READ THE BOOK FIRST. You won’t regret it!

Meteor Garden: It’s basically a Chinese Boys over Flowers remake, but I’m LIVING for Daoming Si and Shancai’s story. It’s on Netflix (US) and honestly, I’m obsessed.

My ID is Gangnam Beauty: I’m both watching the kdrama (It’s really cute) and reading the webtoon translation. They both cover important topics such as the idea of beauty and how much it could either improve your life, or consume you. I would say it’s a must watch.

Other ramblings

As for my home, it’s still under construction. I’ll most certainly post when it’s done. I can’t wait to have space for my books and my things!

I’m starting my P2 year, and I’m really scared, but I’m HOPING no hurricanes arrive this season. I do not think I would be able to handle it again (and people here haven’t really recovered from the damage yet. Let’s hope we get some rest and a normal pharmacy year (haHA like these words could ever be included in the same sentence!)

Whoa, two posts the same week! Is this what they call a miracle? Still- thanks for reading and I hope to see you all soon!

A much needed update: The Sequel

(I called this The Sequel because I apparently called a post A much needed update on 2015 :3)

Hi everyone! *waves at an empty crowd* Is anyone even following this blog anymore?

Still, I cannot believe I haven’t updated this blog in 6 months! How is this even possible?

Resultado de imagen para uh-oh tumblr gif

Well, I suppose I could blame my busy student life (I could also blame my laziness *shrugs*) but I’m here now!

*skims through the blog to her latest post* Whoa, I did leave you on a somber note there, didn’t I? I’m definitely in a better place now, so let’s list what has happened to me on the last few months, shall we?

  1. On a birthday post almost 4 years ago, I said I wanted to buy a car. I was finally able to do it! (Although I still have to practice enough to be confident, this is one more step for my independence!)
  2. My home is finally on its way to be repaired! For the time being, we’re still living at my aunt’s house, but things are definitely looking better -and I would be lying if I said I am not excited about my new room!
  3. I always talk about my new obsessions on my updates so why would this one be any different?
    1. During the last few months I caught up with Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Resultado de imagen para brooklyn 99It was all fun and games until the day when it was cancelled. I was surely devastated, but NBC saved it! Which brings me to my second obsession- NBC is also the home of-
    2. The Good Place! Honestly, this show is amazing! If you haven’t watched it, please give it a chance. These past two seasons have been perfect and I’m hoping they keep surprising me. *crosses fingers*

Resultado de imagen para the good place gif
It’s always a good time to post this gif
    3. Anastasia: The Musical– If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably read my tweets about it (Especially about In a Crowd of Thousands). I’ve always been a fan of the movie, but the musical is magical, and I love everything about it and I’m hoping to see it someday. *heart eyes emoji*Resultado de imagen para anastasia the musical gif
    4. My Hero Academia– This one’s more recent, to be honest… but I watched the whole show in a week and honestly, I have no idea how I’ll wait weekly for new episodes. I guess I’ll have to start reading the manga *shrugs, laughing hysterically because she has no time)
  4. I’m also currently watching 2 k-dramas at the moment: Wok of Love and Rich Man, Poor Woman. I’m not obsessed with them (yet) so I’m not counting them on my list 🙂
  5. In terms of books, some of the ones I read and loved are The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Leah and the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli and I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman. As you can see, I haven’t read much during the past months… I need to fix this somehow.
  6. In case you’re wondering about school (haha, I would too, after talking about shows for half my post), I’m currently taking 3 classes this summer (Biochemistry, Professionalism and Leadership -lol- and Pharmacy & the Health Care System). Why am I taking 3 classes, you may ask. Well… in order to follow my program’s core classes (aka the ones I needed to take last semester’s classes without falling behind) we had to drop these and take them during the summer session. This also meant that travel study is not an option this time. *crying*. I’m also expected to start my first practice after they’re over if things go my way, so cross your fingers for me, please!

Well, I guess this a nice update. How has your lives been? Let’s start a conversation on the comments! ^.^ I really want to work more on this blog again!

Somehow, I’m back. *waves*

Resultado de imagen para hello gif tumblr

When was the last time I posted? *checks*

Uh-oh. I can’t believe you’re still following me after my inactivity these past months! Still- I’m back! And I even changed my About page a bit *winks along with the hint*

The possible strike I mentioned in this post? Yep, it happened. And that’s why I took my last final last week. In JULY. Writing July on my class notes and exams was a surreal experience to say the least 🤗 but we survived… and my last grades were worth it. Even though I didn’t have to finish my degree to start classes in August.

It’s also why I’m graduating(!!!) in August instead of June, when we were still taking classes to catch up. My graduation is also the night before my orientations start at my new uni- so watch me try not to fall asleep the next day. I’ll try and keep you informed. 😂

I didn’t do much but read and watch TV shows during those 2 months I was at home -I even caught up with my Goodreads challenge… only to lose my winning streak when Uni started again. *shrugs* Let’s see if I can at least catch up during the next 3 weeks :3 I guess I should have caught up with my blogging as well, but it was my procrastinating self’s (read: my) fault.

I also decided on an apartment to live in for the next year while I study and met my two roommates. I have high hopes, people! I think it will be an Experience… even though I am honestly scared to death. I’ll really try to keep in touch the next months as I get used to the place and to being in a graduate school, living away from home… and to being called a student pharmacist. (eeeep!)

Bye bye, 2016.

2016, a year for the books, right? I’ve been thinking a lot about what to write… and now that we’re two hours away from saying goodbye (here in Puerto Rico, as I’m writing this), I guess it’s time to think about what happened to me during this… eventful year. Shall we?

This will be sort of a numbered post since I don’t have much time… 😀

  1. First sleepover: Some of you will roll your eyes to the back of your head with this… but this was a milestone for me. Being invited let alone the fact that I was allowed to go? That was huge for me. That was one of the best nights of my life. I’m so glad it happened.
  2. PCAT: I took it. I survived. And I’m currently waiting after I submitted an application to a pharmacy school. Is this scary or what? That was also the time of my second sleepover. Will there be a time where I stop counting them?Resultado de imagen para grinning gif
  3. Time to get my GPA up! And it did. It totally did and now I’m finally competitive enough for at least a chance. I’m so happy… even though might not be enough, I’m still up for a fight.Resultado de imagen para fight gif
  4. Turning 21: It was not as exciting as how many people experience. Probably because I don’t drink? But it was still a milestone. And what made it a happy day for me was that my friends actually remembered and made it special.Resultado de imagen para aww gif
  5. And as for the sad part, more death in my family. I still have no clue why this all keeps happening… but it did. Again. And the distance between my extended family and I feels kind of unsurmountable right now. Let’s hope for new beginnings next year? Resultado de imagen para skeptical gif
  6. (NOT) finishing my goal amount of books? I accepted some months ago that I wouldn’t make it this year. These past semesters were kind of brutal… I am lucky I could finish SOME books… I’m hoping this perpetual slump could end ANY minute now…Resultado de imagen para sigh gif
  7. Becoming obsessed with k-Dramas. It was bound to happen. *shrugs* I can’t imagine myself without them now.Resultado de imagen para goblin kdrama gif

I wanted to say something else, too, before the year ends. I missed lots of things, things I could have blogged about… and I did not. I could say I did my best for my blog, but I didn’t. I am not going to promise to post more. It would be pointless… But I’m still going to try. I deserve it, and you deserve it too. 2017 is so important, you see. I FINALLY graduate during next year! And whatever happens… I want to share this next stage with you all. Like I said, I’m going to try. Let’s see how it goes.

Signing off for the year;

Nat.

Catching Up! :)

It’s been a while, WordPress. I’ll refrain from apologizing… maybe read my last post (if you are wondering why) 🙂

Still, I did not post during certain important days and that’s kinda sad. Last semester was full of work… I did tell you that I was taking an unusually big amount of classes -BUT I SURVIVED!yy2

Let the catching up begin!

I still haven’t quite recovered… although my grades were something else! (I mean… for a semester when so much happened to me) I still have no clue as to how that was possible, but I’m thankful. I’m so, so thankful. I also missed posting on my birthday (my 21st birthday…) which I spent at uni taking classes… and since my brother was sick, I couldn’t do much but eat pizza that night. (Needless to say, pizza was more than enough for me)

Resultado de imagen para shrug gif

But it was definitely okay… my friends were there and they did not forget and it was a really nice day. I had a happy birthday… even when I had to take biochemistry.

Apart from my birthday, though, November was FULL. OF. WORK. Like… I did not think it would all end, until it somehow did.

In the spirit of wrapping up this semester  (and forgetting that it ever happened). (yeah, right), a class by class round up:

  • Biochemistry- taking it was… interesting. Basically full of self-study… since… well… I didn’t understand anything while taking it. 😀 My professor gave me a letter of reference, though, which was definitely awesome. 🙂 (Also full of memes and gifs my friends and I sent to each other while taking it xD)
  • Statistics- This gif will suffice. There was no time for this and I studied the day before for all my tests.

Resultado de imagen para laughing gif

  • Economics-

Resultado de imagen para desert plant rolling gif

My professor was sick and he was absent basically all semester so he only sent us two projects. Life.

  • Life cycle seminar: “The professor you chose will not give you your class! The hardest one will!” “Let’s get all into groups to talk about how our cousins and aunts and parents somehow relate to the topic that we’re covering!” “Let’s do a portfolio about health service centers that’s worth 45% of your class grade!” “Let’s not forget about sending your professor your project at the wrong email and finding out an hour later!” Don’t ask me how, but it all worked out in the end. I still don’t know what happened.
  • Conversational English- Incredibly… It was my favorite class this semester. I was so worried about the presentations and the dialogues and I was regretting choosing it from day 1, until I met my professor and my group. It was our safe space this semester… no judgement, and everyone was so kind to one another! If I could take it again I would in a heartbeat. 🙂
  • Developmental Psychology- I was so confident I would get an A at first… and then the second and third exams happened. xD I spent hours  working on that final project, and it all somehow worked out in the end. *basically cries with relief*

Aaaaaand, the round-up is over! Which means where back to present day. Which probably could mean one thing: Stray thoughts:

Christmas has been great; Dad is here until the 4th, I’ve been watching k-dramas and movies during these past 2 weeks…! I’ve taken lots of pictures and even posted some of them. Everything is awesome… except for… the slumpI have not been able to finish a new book since I read Ari and Dante a month ago. (Except for “The Rest of Us Just Live Here”, but it was so meh that it does not even count… sorry.)

*By the way, guys? You should totally read Ari and Dante. It’s beautiful!*

Still, today I worked with my Goodreads shelves and loaded a couple of books to my Kindle. Let’s see if I can get out of this slump.

Also, did anyone watch the Sense8 Christmas special? That was AMAZING! And I can’t wait until May when I’ll probably binge watch the whole season in one sitting. I’m also anxiously waiting for season 4 of Sherlock and will probably watch it along with my friend. 🙂

If you’ve somehow read until the end of this post, thank you, and I hope you had a Merry Christmas. 🙂

… *Sings* And a Happy New Year!

Sleepovers, Scares and Staying at a Hotel

Well, people, it’s been a while…

I’m blogging from my study cave. (Yes, you read me right. Studying. In July… but don’t be sad for me, I literally started studying today. I’m okay, and procrastinating healthily while blogging) The time has come to prepare myself for the PCAT… a test that will probably define my whole future, but no big deal! *laughs nervously*

Being an adult is scary. I’m not even kidding, I haven’t been more nervous than the night I applied to take the PCAT. It’s not that bad, though. I don’t exactly have to get up early, which means I can work with my schedule, and I plan on studying with my friends. My vacations haven’t exactly been uneventful. I got really scared for a week or two while I didn’t know if I would have to get surgery… If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that it was, thankfully, a false alarm, and I got off with a December appointment and an order to exercise and eat better… (bye bye, pizza weekends!) … Right after I got that order I went to an hotel and basically broke that rule for two whole days, but I was saying goodbye! Don’t judge! 😀

(Yes, that’s my hair. Yes, that’s Graceling, AKA my favorite book in the whole world) I posted most of my pictures/videos on Snapchat (fearlesslynat, like the blog, just in case you were wondering :D)

These past days were amazing… And they weren’t the only thing I’ve done this summer! I finally had my first sleepover at María‘s on her birthday, and it was fairly one of the best days ever 🙂

Now that I told you about everything that has happened, more or less, I guess I can also tell you about movies/books/tv shows, right?

A month ago I told you I was watching Les Interpretes, right? It had a kind of disappointing ending, to be honest. It had such a promising beginning, and it had to end like that… *groans*. I wasn’t expecting more of the other one I was watching, which was good, because the ending wasn’t good, either. That’s why I ended up watching Descendants of the Sun… twice. Now I’m watching Beautiful Mind, Doctors and Lucky Romance… which are good… so far. I am up to date with Game of Thrones as well, which means I can read Pat‘s posts without fear of spoilers. Life is good, really.

I’ve also tried to catch up with my reading… but I only read Lady Midnight (I finished it!!) and started Graceling. I’m waiting for my friend to give A Court of Mist and Fury to me… I’m really excited about it because (1) Sarah J. Maas, duh. and (2) IT’S SIGNED! Which is basically a dream come true… although I still want to meet her someday.

Anyway, I think this was a nice update, and hopefully I’ll meet you again soon while I try to distract myself from Biology and *shudders* organic chemistry… *waves*

“I’m Alive!”-Sia

*runs towards all of you, screaming “I am NOT GONE yet!”*

Hello! Long time, no see… (Since Valentine’s Day! Whoa…) *wonders if people are still interested in my posts*

This semester was draining… but good results came from it, so that’s great! *smiles at my brand new GPA*

Summer has now arrived (finally, after finals were postponed a week because of my uni’s strike…*), and with it a sense of happiness and peace I hadn’t felt since forever. Incredibly, I have not finished any books (apart from one I read during finals but that one didn’t count), so if you have any suggestions as to what in the world I can do to get rid of this horrible reading slump, they are mostly welcome. A little more than a month ago I tweeted a poll (see below)

and I still have to keep my word. I’ll keep you posted on if I like Lady Midnight. I’ve been trying to listen to the audiobook… (trying being the main word. Perhaps it will work when I start working out this summer? Only time will tell)

Since I can’t read much because of the slump, I’ve been watching Korean dramas. My mother basically passed on her addiction to me. I’ve been also watching Les Interprètes, a Chinese drama, which is SO GOOD (and extremely addicting, so please do NOT do as I did and watch it slowly. Do not binge on 14 episodes in one day. It’s not healthy and you’ll run out of episodes soon.) I did not think I would enjoy something like this so much, but I love how it involves both languages in such a natural way!

A lot of things have also happened. My dad came here for 2 weeks… during which I was on my finals so I did not get to spend as much time as I wanted with him (boo…) BUT he did promise he would try to come here more often. I was not able to go to my brother’s graduation (Thanks, Developmental biology) BUT I did get a good grade on the class so it was (kind of) worth it.

In other words, I’m free, like Dobby (for the next 2 months, anyway), even though I plan on studying for the PCAT. *crosses fingers* I also have other plans for this summer… I hope I can do it all… (And keep this blog more updated, hopefully.)

*I guess that would have been a good topic for a blog post… but I did tweet about a lot of my thoughts… xD

P.S. Do you all like my new blog layout? I’m trying some things out. 🙂
