I could write a comedy about my life! :D

(Well, my brother can!)

You should ask my family about all the stories they have about me. I’m clueless about most things that aren’t related to:

A. Books
B. Science
C. The TV Shows and movies I actually watch.

(Yes, the clueless thing also applies to social situations. I can’t get a social cue to save my life!)

My brother has this amazing memory. He can memorize anything he wants in no time. This is kind of traumatizing for me since he can remember with excruciating detail every embarrassing event of my life. (Including the time I, for some reason, confused Vin Diesel with Bruce Willis. I still don’t know how I did that, but oh well?)

Now that he’s all grown up, he wants to take revenge on me for all the times I might have made his life miserable. *winks*. My brother has a lot of stories about that, and can probably list them chronologically. As for me, I tend to block out painful memories, so he remembers them better than I do, and will probably tell them to anyone who asks. (I’m hoping that he waits a bit when I have a boyfriend so I can warn him!) That translated to my ability with sports. (Or lack of ability, to be more precise.)

The only thing I could do proficiently was to ride a bicycle, and I probably don’t remember how to do it anymore. (You do know that riding a bicycle saying? Totally NOT true.) You should have seen me in a basketball/volleyball court. I was a magnet for the ball. Every time I went there, it went STRAIGHT. TO. MY. FACE. I’m not even kidding. I’m not sure how my glasses lasted more than a week. My PE teachers probably pitied me or saw my continued effort to learn. XD I really don’t know how I got an A on their classes.

Graphic description of my life.

This is weird, since when I was little I was a very energetic child. I went everywhere, I climbed trees, and played baseball and basketball with my cousins. I probably developed an aversion to sports in school, which is too sad. When I was a child I was tested for some things, and it resulted that I had an advanced vocabulary, but that I had the manual skills of an 8 year old. (I was 11 at the time, I think). I’m pretty sure I still have that exact same clumsiness… Magnified by 1000x! This is why science is a challenging field for me. It makes me want to develop my skills.

Still, I try, a lot, and my family and my true friends know that, and support me. That’s all I ask for. 🙂

Happy New Year, people! I hope you had an amazing time with your family and that I get to read you more during this 2015 🙂

  1. Hey, everyone is super-graceful, except when they are not. You probably just have bad luck with spheroids. It’s a thing! Spheroidisastera sounds like a legit phenomenon.

You make up for it by being really cool otherwise.

    Happy New Year!

  2. I’m clumsy, as well, and oh, so uncoordinated. I had to practice for hours at home when I was in musicals just so I wouldn’t make a fool of myself in front of an audience (and it didn’t necessarily stop me from making a fool of myself). I always had this fear that I would accidentally miss a step and fall off the stage. I also climbed trees and was very energetic as a child.

Thank the gods for books and science to distract us clumsy, unsocial folk from the embarrassment we tend to experience. 😉
